Teva Ireland donates more than 100,000 pots of Sudocrem® to frontline health workers

A number of nurses asked for Sudocrem® to soothe soreness to their faces caused by wearing surgical masks all day to treat patients – so Teva picked up the challenge

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve received a number of emails and calls from nurses and other frontline staff requesting individual pots of Sudocrem® to help soothe soreness to the face caused by the wearing of face masks and other personal protective equipment. We realised that under the current difficult conditions, front line nurses and doctors need all the help they can get.

So as a direct result of being alerted to the need, we’re pleased to say that this week we’ve donated a consignment of more than 100,000 pots of Sudocrem® to the HSE. This donation should provide a personal pot of Sudocrem® for every doctor and nurse in Ireland directly involved with the treatment of COVID-19. The donation will be distributed up and down the country in the coming days and weeks by the HSE, and it’s a small way to say ‘thank you’ to the healthcare professionals keeping the country safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Doctors and nurses are doing an incredible job keeping the State safe during this challenging time,” said Kim Innes, General Manager of Teva UK & Ireland. “In addition to making sure we keep medicines moving for patients, we wanted to do something to show our appreciation and gratitude to healthcare professionals up and down Ireland. We hope this small gesture will help to make the lives of those on the frontlines just that little bit easier.”
